The Unitarian Universalist Holdeen India Program supports social change groups in India that:

  • Promote poor peoples' leadership, initiatives, and organizations that are democratically governed.

  • Expand their access to natural and economic resources and services. Increase their strength, assets, livelihood options, social status, independence and security.

  • Promote links and collaborative efforts with other groups.

  • Strengthen their leadership, managerial, organizational, technical, strategic planning, advocacy, and problem-solving capacities.

  • Address the special needs of dislocated and migrating populations.

  • Strengthen women's leadership and representation in decision making.
