Abstractions in nature.
Laura Janes writes of her work, “I like to isolate and amplify the things I see so that there is little question about where my attention is drawn. I also like to allow the viewer to see an abstraction as well as an object. Sometimes the similarities in natural shapes can confuse the viewer and then help reinforce the idea that so much in our world is related.”
Janes is the Artist in Residence at Camp de Benneville Pines, the Unitarian Universalist camp and conference center in southern California. (laurajanes.com)
