My Heart Bleeds for You III. ©2010 Merill Comeau. Hand-painted vintage linens, plastic net vegetables bags, deconstructed men’s shirts, commercial fabrics, machine stitching, 18 x 48 inches.

Merill Comeau writes, “I create a utopian Garden of Eden for tomorrow out of the refuse of today. These cast-offs reflect memory, social constructs of identity and class, the globalization of manufacturing, and our speeded-up consumer cycle. I take this detritus and create something beautiful.”
