Not quite a spiritual practice, and “not doodling,” the Rev. Kaaren Anderson’s fanciful daily drawings enable her to reach a “weird and highly focused comfort zone. I don’t think much about what I’m doing, except doing what I’m doing. I’m completely present. I’m not that good at traditional mediation or prayer, I get bored frankly and tune out. This slows me down a little.”
